Sarah Palin claims she is ready for the international stage because she is an "energy expert."
An energy expert?
This woman has an undergraduate degree in journalism, and no higher education at all.
She has about as much expertise in energy as a gas station operator.
And, of course, that fact has come out pretty quickly.
Palin, for example, claims that Alaska "produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy."
Which is nonsense.
Alaska's share of domestic energy production was 3.5 percent last year, according to the U.S. Government's Energy Information Administration, and it was only 2.4 percent of total energy consumption.
Bottom line: Palin is a fraud, and so too is her notion that we can drill our way to a new economic future.
If Palin knew her ass from a turnip seed in the energy arena, she would know there is no such thing as "U.S" oil or "foreign" oil.
It's all just oil, for sale on an international marketplace to the highest bidder.
As for Alaska, not only is it not the largest energy producing state, it is not even the largest oil producing state.
Texas produces more oil than Alaska, and California, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, and Wyoming produce more energy.
In fact, Wyoming alone produces three times more energy than Alaska!
