Happy Birthday Sir Walter Scott

Sir Walter Scott not only invented much of the culture of Scotland (he was trying to impress a British King!), but he was also the first English-speaking writer to talk about terrier work associated with mounted fox hunts.

For a short illustrated history of terrier work that mentions Scott, see this article.

For a longer series of eight posts detailing the history of terrier work from the pre-beginning to the modern era, and which also mentions Scott, start here.
