Ron Paul's "Big Dog" Ad



As I noted this morning, the arch-conservative Hot Air blog suggests it might be better for the GOP to put up Ron Paul and lose with principles rather than field candidates the likes of New Gingrich and Mitt Romney, which might leave the GOP a tattered wreck (and a joke) for a generation to come.

As luck would have it, Ron Paul has put out a new ad entitled "Big Dog" which seems too perfect for this blog not to salute, even though I have a hard time fitting any of its rhetoric within the preamble to the U.S. Constitution which says WHY this great nation was created:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I've listened to this ad a few times and it seems to me to be full of fast-talking, empty, jingoistic rhetoric, devoid of substance and super-charged with testosterone, anger, and resentment.

Do we need more of that?

As for the dogs, yeah, a Shih Tzu might leave a turd on the rug, but damn if that Rottweiler (is that supposed Ron Paul?) does not seem intent on biting everyone in the room and leaving us all maimed.

Choose or lose?

When the breed count is done, more Americans are buying Shih Tzus than Rottweilers.  You would of thought Ron Paul's people might have looked up that statistic!..
